When I was young I felt always alone
But now I am grown and out on my own
happy and married with a lovely little home
Lived in more houses than years I was alive
It went on that way til I turned 25
Then I met you and I knew

For the life of me I don't know what took me so long
To hone happy words and to set them to song
But I am still growing and writing
yesterday's wrongs
Honesty I still like to delve in the dark
But misery is more like a trip to the park

Rainbow puppies and kitties with strings
It's classless to brag about the happiness

The fellow sitting to our right settles up and gets out
But there ain't no women

So I can't quite figure

He orders up something fruity
Raises his glass and we smile back

Like he likes the cops
Somewhere across town
far away from us

And sit quiet as a mouse
Barkeep pours us all a whiskey
